Learn More About Webkinz
Did you plan to do something special for your Webkinz this holiday season? I did. I got my kids to sit around the computer with me one morning and told them that their Webkinz were going to have a big Christmas Eve Party.
Next I got a Christmas tree and gathered all of their Webkinz together into one room with plans of making them some holiday food. But to my surprise there really aren’t any Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa Webkinz Recipes. I was surprised because on Halloween, I treated my Webkinz to Halloweenog. I think for Christmas, I’m going to have to improvise.
Maybe I could start with something like Hot Cocoa. That’s a festive holiday drink. But since I was set on making Webkinz Recipes maybe there was a Cocoa like recipe that I could try. Our Webkinz can have hot chocolate any day of the year. This was a holiday party, so we needed something a little more fancy. I took a quick look at a list of recipes that I’ve been meaning to try and saw Hot Marshmallow. It’s made with Marshmallows, Milk and a Chocolate Bar in the blender. Sounds like fancy hot cocoa to me. We went to the W. Shop and bought 5 Marshmallows, 5 Milks and 5 Chocolate Bars so we could make Hot Marshmallow for each Webkinz.
After my daughter clicked the blend button we saw that Hot Marshmallow looked more like a big meatloaf than a festive holiday drink. But everyone was happy when we fed it to the Webkinz and they said it was Mmmmm to to max!
Dead set on serving hot chocolaty drink, I tried again. Ah-ha, I found a recipe for Trippple Hot Chocolate. With three P’s it’s got to be good. So we loaded the blender with Chocolate Milk, Hot Cocoa and a Chocolate Bar. Yes, Trippple Hot Chocolate was perfect.
Now that the Webkinz had a hot drink, it was time for a hot meal. Zazzeloop Soup is pretty festive looking with it’s little Christmas trees on top so we ran out to the W. Shop again to buy some Pizza, Lollipops and Tomato Soup. Zazzeloop Soup is a stove/grill/cauldron recipe but we decided to use the stove. I guess we’ll save the grill for the summer parties and the cauldron is definitely for Halloween.
Voila, Zazzeloop Soup! Now we were on a roll. Most of the Webkinz’ Hunger Meters were way up in the 90s. I think I even saw a few of them loosen their belts. Well, not really but I told the kids that anyway.
After watching a little Chef Gazpacho on the flat screen we decided the party was over. We had a real holiday get together with the kids’ Grandma in a few hours so it was time to start getting ready. We walked each of the Webkinz back to their rooms and put them to bed. Our little holiday party made the Webkinz Happy, Healthy and maxed out their Hunger Meters. And I think that if my kids had Happy Meters, they would have been maxed out too.

Anthony Tripp has kids who are Webkinz fans and had to learn a lot about the lovable plush toys and their online virtual counterparts in order to answer their many, many questions. He’s also sharing everything he learns including Webkinz Recipes at his Webkinz Blog, www.webkinztoday.com
Webkinz Charms have been a hot item for a long time. In fact they continue to be one of the best selling items in the toy market. In the beginning 24 Charms were released but that begs the question: Are anymore Webkinz Charms going to come out on the market? The answer would be, probably. As with all other Webkinz products, Ganz produces a second series or add ons to the current series for their fans.
The original 24 Webkinz Charms are still in popular demand and they show no sign of slowing down at all. The reason they are still highly purchased items is because the way they tie in to Webkinz. Each Webkinz Charm comes with a secret code that unlocks a secret in the Webkinz game. This has made them a very valuable and important item to those who play. It seems that nearly everyone who does play, will end up with at least one of the much sought after Webkinz Charms. They are very inexpensive items which makes owning one even easier.
Coming off the popularity of the first series of Webkinz Trading Cards, series 2 is on the way. The first series was hot and demanded nearly three hundred dollars a box for awhile. This was due to the fact that supply could not meet demand and the hype that surrounded the importance of owning the popular trading cards. Before the actual release date, merchants everywhere, including eBay pushed the prices as high as possible. Many parents were pulling out their credit cards and shelling out big bucks, most buying more than one box at a time.
This year’s Webkinz Trading Cards Series 2 may vary slightly. Ganz, aware of the shortage issue last year has realized that had they met demand early on many people would not have lost interest and purchased earlier. This would have made last years batch even hotter in the industry, for Ganz. However, the consumer would have benefited as well by not paying such high prices in the beginning.
Many more products will be coming out of the Webkinz camp this year. Like Webkinz Charms and Series 2 Trading Cards, normally expect them to be a hot commodity every season. Popularity continues to climb no just for Webkinz but all the additional products that are created. Over the next few years, the products impact on the toy industry may falter but will not decrease to the same effect that Beanie Babies did many years back. Consequently, you can expect additional series of Webkinz Trading Cards and Webkinz Charms in the next coming years.

When you say play with what exactly do you mean? In reality there are two types of “virtual pets”. The first type of virtual pet is the kind that is strictly played online. Then there are the better ones (I think) that are half virtual and half real, er stuffed. Is that even possible? Yes
Let me explain
You can find virtual pet websites that you download the pet program software to your computer then you go online and tend to your pet. You can personalize your pet with accessories, get toys, play games, and take your pet for outings.
Often they are like a MySpace for pets, you have your profile of interests and likes and you can add friends to chat with. It is very social.
This maybe fine for an adult, but before you allow your children to download and play with a virtual pet, first go give the website your approval. There’s no interaction with a toy whatsoever it’s all computer, so you aren’t really playing are you? Websites of this sort are for older children or adults.
Now, if you get a pet such a Littlest Pet Shop pet, or Webkinz your child has a stuffed animal they can carry around with them (especially good on trips) that is half virtual.
Meaning you have a special code you received with the animal and you need to go to the website and activate your pet. It’s the whole purpose you bought it.
Now you have two pets in one!
You can personalize your pet, play games, feed and care for your pet and interact with other players. Once again I suggest you visit the website with your child. These websites are geared more towards younger children.
Virtual pets can be a good way to learn responsibility if done correctly and used as the basis of perhaps someday caring for a real pet.
On the other hand they can also become an addiction if not managed properly.
If your child plays with the toy for a month then you never see it again the good news is you won’t have to take over the responsibility of care for the life of the animal.
Unless of course you’ve been exposed to the absolute barrel of monkeys fun virtual pets can be. It happened to me!
So know the reality, virtual pets are fun and a good learning experience for both you and your child that is best when shared.

The arrival of new webkinz is always exciting for kids and parents everywhere. This is one of the few activities that kids everywhere flock to. While it gives their children something to look forward tp get gives the parents much needed time together. Every few months Ganz, the creators of Webkinz, will be releasing newer plush pets and this year is no different. The new Webkinz coming to market this year to date are The Elephant, The Kangaroo, The Butterfly, The Grey Arabian Horse, The Himalayan Cat, The White Cheeky Dog,The Easter Duck, The Pink & White Cat, The Black poodle, the tie dye frog and the Schnauzer. That up to the present moment, is all that has been confirmed for the new batch of webkinz. However, that being stated, it doesn’t mean more won’t come out at a later date.
The hardest thing in years past has been the ability to find the most popular toys. I remember back when the Sega Genesis first arrived on the market, they were impossible to find after the first couple weeks. To make things even more difficult the new games were even harder to find. When Sony released the playstation 2 it was even more difficult to find. The great thing about new Webkinz coming out often is that the shortages are limited. At the spike of the popularity of Webkinz, before they started releasing new ones every other month, shortages were common.
Pre orders have already spouted everywhere including eBay and many other avenues where these cool plush pets are sold. Quite often companies release product after product with no support, but it looks like Ganz really supports their products well. The must, because with new Webkinz coming out constantly, they are surely selling very well.
In years to come look for more additions to be added to the innovative product line. The popularity of this toy has been high for the past 2 years and proudly points to no signs of faltering. With that in mind it looks like the continuous release of new webkinz plush pets is, therefore imminent.
The cost effectiveness of one of these cool toys is what is really striking. Picture for a moment the cost of a Playstation 3 and additionally the cost of a single game. For the price of one game and the console unit, itself you could virtually buy every non-retired webkinz. This provides more entertainment at a fraction of the price for children who love to play with toys and enjoy being online, playing video games.
As sales continue look for new Webkinz to come out consistently. As Ganz’s popularity has really gone up so has their production line. With no sign of slowdown, kids everywhere will be happy for years to come, getting the hands on the hottest new toys. So parents you can rejoice as your kids will be safe off the streets playing and having fun, not to mention doing something that fully stimulates their brain. You just can’t beat something that is affordable and fully helps develop our children.

New Webkinz come out rather quickly it seems. Day after day you can hear the buzz online about what the newest Webkinz will be. This year its no exception, many new Webkinz will be arriving in stores soon. So you may ask your self why all the hype, why all the fuss? The answer is simple, kids want to be different from others. So to children who play Webkinz one great way to be different is to have one of the new Webkinz earlier than anyone else. This sets them apart with their own individual identity. For the most part Webkinz are rather inexpensive at only $9-$15 a piece so its not all to much for parents to buy a couple different Webkinz for their child.
Another reason everyone wants to get the new Webkinz and get one early is because of value. Remember Beanie Babies? The concept is similar to that, as the demand goes up for some of the Webkinz and goes up fast. One way to make sure you have one of the valuable ones is to buy one brand new before they get to popular and before the value explodes. Some of these plush are now going for upwards of $1000.
New Webkinz also arrive every season. Last years for valentines day they released a Love Puppy and recently for Valentines Day in 2008 they are releasing the Love Frog. In 2007 for Easter Ganz released the Sherbert Bunny plush and for 2008 its a Baby Easter Chick. As you can see year to year Ganz releases New Seasonal Webkinz.
Also as with releasing the seasonal ones very often throughout the year new Webkinz will hit the stores. This keeps supply and demand for an already popular product up. In 2007 right before fall a large array of new Webkinz was released onto the market and everyone was out to get the latest and greatest toy fast. In early 2008 another entire arsenal of new Webkinz is being released which will further generate the hype. This is a good move on Ganz’s part as most “hot” toys only have a shelf life of a couple years. So making the buzz for new Webkinz is one of the best ways to keep everyone including the fans extremely happy.
With the demand of Webkinz still in high gear many stores that carry them are having trouble keeping the shelves full. Often stores are not even able to order enough of the new Webkinz plush to meet demands. This leaves many looking to buy their Webkinz online. Some online stores feature some great deals and others you’ll pay a large premium just to be able to get a new Webkinz before they are gone. So the best tip is to buy online and buy early and never pay over fair market price.
The demand for this “hot” plush will not die out anytime soon. You can expect the laws of supply and demand to continue to cause not only shortages of the plush but also higher prices along with making these toys even more collectible. If you are someone looking for a new Webkinz get one before they are gone.

In this season of generosity my husband and I have received a most precious gift. Our fifth-grade daughter still believes in Santa Claus.
Yes, I’ve done my best to perpetuate the legend without going overboard, and to accentuate the importance of giving rather than receiving during the holiday season. Yet you parents know how magical playing Santa can be. And those of you with school age or grown children also know how quickly those Santa years fly by, and therefore how treasured each passing Christmas is.
I myself remember pressing my mother for “the truth” at the tender age of seven. After a spontaneous and prideful deduction of my own, without bitterness or disappointment, I came home from first grade and confronted her head-on. “Mom, don’t lie to me, you and dad are really Santa, right? You really buy the presents from Santa, don’t you?” She tried to dodge me but caved pretty quickly, confirmed my suspicions, and swore me to secrecy so as not to ruin it for my younger siblings.
As the oldest of four and thus the first to know about Santa, I had many years afterwards to watch my younger sisters and brother revel in the wonder of the Santa mystery and the surprises of Christmas morning. I even took my baby brother to see Santa a couple of times, and nostalgically joined him for a picture one year on the old guy’s lap. It was around that time I began to see the error of my smarty-pants ways.
As I reached adulthood, got married and had a child of my own, I vowed never to so easily deny Santa. How could I? It was more fun that I could possibly imagine.
Yet in recent years the detailed questions have come hard and fast from our daughter. Thanks to the Internet, that dynamic collective consciousness, what once was just a concept can now be proven real. I could punch up NORAD and show her the real-time satellite-image of Santa’s Christmas Eve ride. We could visit one of Santa’s many Web sites and even email the jolly old elf. Better yet, he would write back with a real letter.
Moving to Florida from Chicago three years ago involved going from a house with a brick fireplace and chimney to one with neither. Yet our daughter’s faith was unwavering. Trusting her father and I would leave the patio door unlocked, she understood Santa simply parked his sleigh and reindeer not on the treacherously high roof, but on our roomy pool deck well stocked with reindeer food and a bucket of fresh water. Santa then easily slipped - rather than squeezed - in through the sliding door. Gifts were thus effortlessly deposited under the tree while their bearer enjoyed refreshments in the kitchen.
Mysteriously, Santa’s presents were always wrapped in a unique paper imprinted with a repeating pattern of his face, topped off by special bows and tags also featuring his happy countenance. And that paper was never found in the collection of usual wrappings and decorations lying around the house in December.
Last year we even prepared a gourmet snack for Kris Kringle. Reasoning he could stomach only so many cookies (and it being too warm for hot cocoa in Florida) we left him an antipasto-style plate of meats, cheeses, dates and sweets. He left the plate empty.
Upon our child’s tenth birthday this July, I wistfully contemplated what this Christmas would bring. Had I already seen my last letter to Santa from her? Would the kids at school burst the bubble and shatter her illusions? Was it all over in our house? Since she is our only child, I knew there might not be many - or any - Santa years left. But it was merely July, so my thoughts waned until a few months passed, and suddenly in September I was hearing, “You know what I’d like for Christmas, mom?”
“Time to start your Christmas list,” I told her, which she dutifully did.
Fifth grade began and as the school weeks passed and December crept up on us, more questions and comments ensued. “Mom, have you ever seen Santa on Christmas Eve?” (Well, no I had to admit, I had not been so fortunate.) “Nicole at school actually has him on video!” (Saints preserve us!) “When do the elves come to start watching if you’re being good?” (after Thanksgiving), “What does Santa do if he sees you spying on him when you’re supposed to be sleeping?” (he winks, laughs, but doesn’t speak a word), “How does the Post Office know where to deliver my letter to Santa?” (just write North Pole and they’ll get it there) and “Where exactly is the North Pole anyway and how does the Post Office get the mail there?” (Satellite-precision air-drops, naturally).
Then just the other day my heart skipped a beat when out of the blue she exclaimed, “You know mom, none of the kids at school really talk about Mrs. Claus, or the elves, or Rudolph and the other reindeer anymore. They just talk about what kinds of presents they’ll get. Some kids don’t even believe in Santa anymore.”
“Do you?” I asked, holding my breath.
“Of course,” she said matter-of-factly.
“Then you’d better get your letter to Santa written,” I exhaled. “Finalize your list and send it in the mail tomorrow. It’s already December.”
So without further delay, she took out a piece of paper and penned this little note:
Dear Santa Claus,
How are you doing? How are your elfs? A special present from you would be a bell from your sleigh. But if you can’t get me that here are the other presents I want.
(. . . an eight-point list of mostly Webkinz stuffed animals followed)
Love, (her name)
P.S. Say Hi to the reindeer and your wife
A bell from his sleigh. The timeless gift Santa presented the doubting little boy in The Polar Express, made recently into a Christmas movie classic. Her number one request wasn’t a toy, video game, computer or, miraculously though close, another dreaded Webkinz, but something you can’t put a price on, something you can’t buy in a store.
And although asking for proof, she is also asking to keep believing. Believing in the things we take on faith until, unable to rationalize them with our minds, we come to know them with our hearts. She asked for the hope and mystery to continue. She’s not ready to give up on any of that, and neither am I.
I put the letter in an envelope, stamped it, and mailed it immediately to the North Pole.
What I know for sure is I’ll never deny that Santa brings those presents wrapped in the paper and bows none of the other gifts are done up in. And I’ll be able to do so with a clean conscience, because I, like so many other parents, am Santa Claus. We are all Santa Claus. And that’s real enough for me.
I’d better get moving. I have a sleigh bell to wrap.

What is a Webkinz Secret Code you may wonder as your child asks What is this tag on my new Webkinz?. This code is included with all new Webkinz and Lil Kinz and allows the Webkinz to be adopted into the on line virtual world of Webkinz. In this virtual world your child can learn to earn and save Kinzcash, the currency of the Webkinz World. The on line pets need food and care. Kinzcash can be earned in many ways. There is an employment office which offers jobs that pay more as you get better at them. Do the same one over and over and the pay will be much better.
The Gem Hunt at the curio shop is a favorite of many and it pays quite well. The todays activities has many fun games that pay Kinzcash and pet food. And the My Pet’s area will reward you with free food and Kinzcash.
Are you curious yet about the cheats that work? A few tricky scamming Webkinz World participants are attempting to and have succeeded in conning some gullible young players from their account passwords. They are enticing you with offers of rare and free items, Kinzcash and possible new secret codes by asking you for your password and user name.
Now that constitutes a cheat that actually does work for the wicked participant that just defrauded you. Never distribute your secret log on information. There are utterly no tricks that anybody could assist you in acquiring free items or Kinzcash which call for you to give out your login information.
If you don’t want your Webkinz and Kinzcash stolen you must keep your secret code and password to yourself. Be especially careful in any Webkinz forums that you visit and post. It’s too bad that some devious kids are doing these scams but you must be aware and watch out for them so you don’t get taken to the cleaners.
This one usually is seen in some Webkinz forums. Someone pretends to be hosting a contest and wants you to send him a rare item or Kinzcash while offering a nice prize, don’t fall for it. He will become the winner if you foolishly agree to send him your property.
Webkinz World is designed to be a fun and educational environment for children. There are really no ways to circumvent the game world and get extras. Even the rumored cheat engine does not work and will get your account banned for good. There are many fun and easy ways to earn food and Kinzcash. Unfortunatly some cheaters win but you lose after they have taken your account stuff.
Do the daily Kinz care for some easy Kinzcash. When you click the I love my pet button you are rewarded with food and 10 Kinzcash. there is even a bonus if you do this all seven days in a week. There is a weekly survey that rewards you with 50 Kinzcash. The Wheel of Wow can be spun for a sure reward. Answering simple questions at Quizzy’s corner will get you some easy Kinzcash too.

I can’t remember the first time I remember seeing a Webkinz. Like everyone else I’d heard something about them on the media or is passing comments from friends but it really was not something I ever thought I would be involved in. Imagine my surprise.
I vaguely remember hearing talk about them between my daughter and a few of her friends. I recall not really paying attention to it until I heard one of Marisa’s friends mention she had 12 out of the 18 Webkinz that were out. One of the other girls said she had 8, another 6 and my daughter said she had one that she received for a birthday gift. I thought to myself that this was crazy and these girls must be a bit more then a little spoiled. As time went on, all I heard from Marisa was talk about her Golden Retriever Webkinz that she named Barkley. She constantly carried “him” around or was constantly on the Webkinz web site. Finally I figured that after hearing all the hype I would check this out. I bought Marisa a new Spotted Frog and off to Webkinz World I went. I wasn’t expecting much from this journey, but I figured I would at least have some quality time with my daughter.
In spite of my skepticism, I was very happily surprised. I couldn’t believe everything that was involved. You were not just buying a plush toy, you got involved in a whole process. A process that I soon learned was a very positive learning experience. First we had to register our new family member. We decided to name him Henry. We bought Henry food and clothes and furniture for his room. Most of all, we had to play with him and give him attention so he knew he was loved. I couldn’t imagine that a toy like this would be able to teach a child such responsibility. Furthermore, some of the games on the Webkinz website were very educational. They were not typical Internet or video games, but actually made Marisa think and learn. I was astonished at the sophistication and care that the Webkinz people took to ensure a positive learning experience for children. Two hours had passed and it seemed to fly by. We had only started on the Webkinz journey but both of us found it amazingly enriching. Webkinz had a new fan and he was well into his thirties.
I can now tell you my daughter is one of those kids who owns an extensive collection of Webkinz. Each one of them has given Marisa much joy and entertainment. Because of the Webkinz she has a much better understanding of responsibility and a better appreciation for education. Today, when I hear Marisa and her friends talking about their Webkinz, I smile to myself. I know she is in a world that makes her feel good about herself. I also know the Webkinz world teaches her responsibility in its own way while keeping her happy. What more could a parent what?
